The care is very good up there at Maples Rehab and Nursing. They're always clean and neat, and for somebody who has to be in a nursing home, she's content up there. She's still young in her brain, but she's had a stroke.

I'm not saying that Nurse Rachet is all bad but I wish I had not been there when she was there. It's so hard to see my mother dying and be told to shut up by mother when there are things that you just can't ignore. But, that kind of character flaw really has no place in a setting like a rehab facility.

I agree the rehab wing is clean and there are many great nurses and aides. She has great insurance but they keep switching her payor source. She was admitted able to walk with no pain and was discharged, unable to walk in excruciating pain. Her mattress had a big dip in it and was most uncomfortable. In order for her to get adequate care we must pay out of pocket for personal aide to be with her daily.

They do their best to get to the patients if they have a complaint, as far as I know, and I haven't seen any of the other residents in a kind of condition that would be negative. So I asked when was that paperwork signed? She said very irritated "in the hospital!" I explained she just came from the hospital and has been in a few times so I just wanted to see the date to clarify it was part of her DNR paperwork. She grunts and says "I'll show you" and storms off to get the DNR paperwook.
